On Saturday I wanted to test if my L3830 would run the alternator that would power my house if I lose electrical power. The tractor can do it however, the problem I have is that I must sit on the seat when the PTO is running. Does anyone have a suggestion how to bypass the safety switch so I can get the job done? I don't want to sit on the seat when it is really cold outside.

I don't know but have you checked the manual to see if you set the brake and take it out of gear or did you test that? Guess you could place a sack of sand or such in seat.

L3830 - Operate the PTO without someone in the seat.

1. Set the parking brake.

2. Tilt the seat forward and rest on the the steering wheel.

3. Be careful when engaging the PTO. ....
